My husband and I have been married for 21 years and have four amazing children. They are often going in four different directions at once and we are so thankful to have my parents live super close so they can help out.
I was raised in a family that had a heart for showing God’s love to kids in our community– my dad was a youth minister when I was really young and when I was in middle school, my parents were houseparents at a local children’s home. Being a part of serving alongside them grew that same heart in me to share Jesus and His love with children. In fact, when my husband and I were in college, we were interns at the same children’s home where my parents had previously been houseparents. Becoming a parent changes everyone and of course, it impacted me as well. My parenting journey has truly opened my eyes to a better understanding of God’s immense love for us.
My favorite Bible verse is Romans 15:13. May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Life can be difficult at times, but God can fill us with joy and peace no matter what our circumstances. This verse also helps me to remember that there is always hope in Him.
I began my work at The Hills as a nursery teacher at the Southlake Christian Preschool in 1998 and had my oldest child in class with me. I taught in a classroom for three years, then I joined the preschool office staff as Curriculum Director and did that for three years. I became the Director of the Southlake Christian Preschool in 2007 and have loved serving in that role ever since. In 2011, the title of Nursery Director was added to my position. I am so blessed to get to love on the babies and toddlers at The Hills Southlake Campus.
Regarding Southlake Christian Preschool, it is always my hope that our students fall in love with the Lord and going to school. In the process, I hope they learn that being away from mom for the first time is okay. My desire for the church is very similar; that children who come will fall in love with Jesus and find a true home at our church.
