I married my amazing wife, Lauren, in 2014. She’s pretty great.

I joke around that I grew up in the church pew. We attended multiple services a week as a family, mostly out of obligation as my Grandpa was the pastor. I didn't pay much attention to his legalistic pulpit pounding; instead, I played with my action figures. Nothing in those messages really stuck, I just knew that God judged us, and that Batman was awesome. When I got to high school, my family started going to a new church, The Crossing, in St. Louis, Missouri. That church taught me the true nature of God and what walking with him looks like. But like many high-schoolers, my relationship with God wasn't solid. It wasn’t until I started attending Baylor University that I found a deep relationship with Jesus. While at Baylor I also found my wife, some lifelong friends, and my passion for filmmaking.

After graduating Baylor we moved to Houston, where I freelanced in the film production industry for a few years. We enjoyed Houston, but it didn't feel like home. After a lot of prayer, my wife and I decided to move to the DFW area and I started working at The Hills in the spring of 2016. I'm so excited and honored to be able to use my talents and passions to help visualize the Gospel.

My favorite Bible verse is Philippians 1:7-11 "It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me. God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus. And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ, filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ—to the glory and praise of God." I love this verse because not only does it show how much God loves us, but how we are called to love and pray for others. We all share in the grace of God and should love each other as Jesus loved us.

I'm so excited to be working here at The Hills Church. My hope is that we can be a church that opens our doors for all to hear what God has done for them.
