2020 Vision
The 2020 Vision was articulated in February 2005 by Rick Atchley.
As a church, we recognize God's calling to reach out beyond ourselves and accomplish great things for His Kingdom according to the model Christ set forth in Acts 1:8: "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
- 01-Local: Jerusalem - Our Jerusalem is the local region served directly by The Hills Church of Christ.
- 02-National: Judea - Our Judea is found in our efforts to plant like-minded churches in the expanding regions of our community and beyond that will follow The Hills Church of Christ's vision for ministry.
- 03-Cross-cultural: Samaria - Our Samaria is found in our efforts to plant like-minded churches that serve and reach into domestic, multi-cultural settings using church planters of different ethnicities.
- 04-International: Ends of the Earth - This facet is seen as our efforts to help support the growth of God's Kingdom outside the U.S.
2020 Vision Goals
| 01. JERUSALEM To double the number of fully devoted followers 02. JUDEA To plant at least ten new churches in the DFW Metroplex and beyond. |
03. SAMARIA To plant 24 multi-cultural churches in partnership with other congregations using church planters of different ethnicities. |
04. THE ENDS OF THE EARTH To increase The Hills’ missionary workforce by ten new missionary families (bringing the total by 2020 to 27 missionary families). To see 100 missionary specialists sent by The Hills. To see 1,200 short-term missionary workers sent by The Hills. To see a thriving ChristianUniversity in East Africa impacting the African Continent. |
We believe that God is calling The Hills Church of Christ family to devote tens of millions of dollars to this mission through our faithful, generous, regular tithes and offerings.
