Back to All Missions

David and Audrey Bentley

Ministry Overview

David grew up as a missionary kid in Tanzania and Kenya, and Audrey grew up in Upstate New York, where her dad was a preacher. David and Audrey both graduated with bachelor’s degrees from Harding University and married in June 2010. After graduating they moved to China for a year to teach English, and once they moved back to the States in 2012 God gave them a renewed desire for African missions. They moved to Tanzania in July of 2014 and are excited to see the ways that God is working in the city of Dar Es Salaam.

Why Tanzania?

David and Audrey first went to Tanzania together in 2009 on a mission’s internship.  Later they were connected with the two other couples on the team, the Shumans and Sims, and found that they too had interned in Tanzania. After much prayer and discussion, it seemed clear that God was leading us to the Tanzanian people. The team also feels God is leading them towards coastal Tanzania, where there is a strong Islamic presence and a desperate need for Christ.

Prayer Requests

  • We believe prayer is powerful, and through abundant prayer God can transform even the most difficult of places.
  • Please pray for us as we settle in Dar Es Salaam, learn language and get to know our communities.
  • Pray that we would have the eyes to see people of peace who can become leaders and spread the message of Christ.
  • Ask God to bless our family and our teammates. Pray that we would remain strong in our unity and that God would lead us in our decisions as we discern how we can join in His work in Dar es Salaam.
