Women: Navigating Motherhood NRH – AM (Sum. 2019)

Being a mother is one of the most significant and exhausting jobs out there.
It is more than a job, really. We believe it is a calling- a calling from God to bring up the next generation to love and impact the world for Him. We also believe that the children that are in your home are there because the Lord intended to equip you to parent them. Whether they were knit together in your womb, adopted, fostered, or brought to you in any other way, the Lord knew as He was creating them that they would be in your care. Your situation has not caught Him off guard. God is ready to help you raise your child or children up to His glory.
Join us for a time of encouragement and kinship with other moms, and to discuss relevant issues in your life as a mother. Together we will learn practical life and parenting skills, as we grow closer to our Lord.

In today’s culture, navigating life can be overwhelming and discouraging at times. Where does one go for answers and discerning right direction? Join us for a meaningful time of encouragement shared among mentors and small group discussions as specific life strategies are developed through time spent in God’s Word, in prayer and in community while working through the book: The Good and Beautiful Community: Following the Spirit, Extending Grace, Demonstrating Love. (OPTIONAL – Participants may purchase the book at amazon.com.) As we intentionally navigate life together, we will learn how to walk in victory, anchor identities in Christ, and find peace and joy for the journey regardless of circumstances.

Volunteer: Teen Life

If you work with teens, you know the tough road they face. You know many of them are growing up in broken homes and without the adult involvement they need in their lives. You are frustrated. How do we help them?! We are right there with you. That’s why we developed a curriculum and program to meet students where they are.
We believe that Support Groups offer teenagers a safe place to ask questions, receive the emotional support they need, and develop healthy peer and mentor relationships. If these support groups do not exist, teenagers are going to continue to fall between the cracks. Instead of complaining about the current state of our culture, let’s encourage, equip and empower this next generation to make better choices.
While we currently have over 200 trained volunteer facilitators, we are looking for more people like YOU to serve your community by offering Support Groups to teenagers who just need a safe place to talk and find acceptance. The next step for you is to get trained! Let us be your resource as you partner with your local school.

With Let’s Start Talking, you have the opportunity to travel to another country and read the Gospel of Jesus with international friends (we call them “Readers”) in a one-on-one, conversational setting — with people who might otherwise never step foot inside a church building. These people come to improve their English language skills but leave changed by the story of Jesus and by the example of love in your life. If you like people, love the Lord, and can speak English, you can do LST!

The State of Texas offers an incentive for engaged couples to take marriage preparation classes. Couples who complete a class will save $60 on their marriage license and the 72 hour waiting period is waived. The classes must be at least eight hours long and focus on helping couples develop communication, conflict resolution skills and give other tools for a strong relationship.

The Nearly Wed Seminar is the first six hours required for completion of the Twogether in Texas program. The remaining requirements are comprised of an online couples assessment and meeting with our state qualified facilitator for two hours. You will receive complete details on the assessment upon registration and at the first Nearly Wed class.

You will receive a certificate at the completion of all 8 hours. This certificate is required to receive the discount.

Registration is required.
